Inter-school competition between Naryani H.S and Jhuwani H.S at Chitwan

CAB conducted second inter school cricket competition between the visually impaired children of Narayani High School and Jhuwani high  school at Chitwan District on 8th September in the  play field of Narayani High school. As both these schools lie in a plain Terai region and have adequate  play field to practice playing cricket, the performance of the players of these school children were found to be better than the schools at capital Kathmandu. In a competition where girls with visual impairments had significant participation, altogether 34 visually impaired children [17/17] were there to showcase their playing skills. The closing ceremony of both the inter-school competitions was attended by the school teachers, members of National Sports Council, Organizations of Blind persons and the parents of the respective children. It is deemed that with the presence of teachers and parents at the cricket competition would help to create an enabling environment for visually impaired children to play sports like cricket at home and school.
