It is indeed with a great pleasure, we would like to congratulate Nepalese blind women cricket team for winning the 2nd bilateral T20 blind women cricket series between Nepal and India that happened at Kaski and Kathmandu from 25th to 30th of April, 2023. Together five matches were played of which Nepal won the series by 3- 1, while one match was washed out by the heavy rainfall. Ms. Binita Pun of Nepal with her double centuries scoring a total of 344 runs became player of the series from B3 category and is also the first in the world to score a century in the history of Blind Women Cricket. Similarly, Ms. Mankeshi Choudhary of Nepal became best player of the series from B2 category and Simu Udas from India became the player of the series from B1 category. Mr. Prakashman Singh – the former Deputy prime minister and the present Member of Parliament handed over the trophy to the winning team. We deem, in addition to representing Nepal in an international arena, an event like this has equally been helpful to showcase the hidden competency of blind women/girls before the society and prove that opportunity matters but not the disability.
While celebrating this international victory, we would like to thank all our partners for their generous support to make this event happen successfully.
